Dr. Gordon Lewis, DDS
General Dentist - Advanced Training in Orthodontics & Dental Implants
Dr. Gordon Lewis is a native of Scotland and graduated from Glasgow University Dental School in 1995. He spent his first year practicing in Scotland then worked as a civilian dentist for the British Army in Paderborn, Germany for four years. Most recently, he practiced and was Dental Director at Redwoods Rural Health Center from 2002-08. Dr. Lewis worked as Dr. Hemmert's associate for six months during the transition of ownership. He has lived in Humboldt County with his wife, Shelby since 2001. They have two young sons, Lachlan and Ruaridh and two old Newfoundlands, Bonnie and Clyde. Gordon enjoys sculling on the bay although he'd rather be in an eight. Other outdoor pursuits include gardening, surfing and hiking the many trails that Humboldt County has to offer. He considers himself lucky to be raising his sons in an unspoilt area with so much to offer.
Shelby Lewis, Practice Manager grew up in Tulare, near Fresno and couldn't wait to leave! Her travels eventually led her to Scotland where Dr. Lewis became her lifelong souvenir. Shelby has fond childhood memories of the local area having grown up fishing on the Klamath River with her grandparents every summer. She was thrilled at the prospect of relocating here with Gordon back in 2001 and appreciates the calm serenity of being "behind the Redwood Curtain" even more now that she's a mom. Shelby's current hobbies include trying to keep her house clean and demolishing her backyard to make room for a playset for her boys. Perhaps, when they're a bit older she'll find time to return to travelling, gardening and being able to read a book not constucted of stiff board and longer than ten pages.
